Installations

To have a brief information needed from the Base units and tags, "Installations", provides a list of some of the necessary details for the user. This tab contains the installation ID that serves as an identifier to your base unit data and is created during pairing from the portal. "Installations" tab also provides some of the necessary health data like "Battery status", "Signal Quality", and more which can also be seen from the health charts inside the installation ID. It also gives base unit settings that are needed to be checked as possible, like the polling and posting interval, site and installation name, GPS data, and other Base Unit settings.

To access the base unit and tag, click the installation ID, which leads user to device settings, sensor values historical data and base unit health data, and other settings that can be set by the user if necessary.

Note:

An Installation ID is an additional identifier to your data that would ensure continuity in the event that you need to replace your base unit.

As you may know, each base unit comes with a unique serial. This serial goes with the sensor data to the database. However, hardware conditions might degrade as years go by and might reach the point that it needs to be replaced. This is when Installation ID becomes handy. Despite the fact that the base unit was replaced (which means new hardware, and new serial), you will still be able to access the data that were gathered by the old base unit, by just assigning the same Installation ID to the new one.
